Dan Belkin, MD, FAAD, FACMS

Dan is a board-certified dermatologist who is fellowship-trained in cosmetic dermatology, laser surgery, and Mohs micrographic surgery. He is also subspecialty board-certified in dermatologic surgery. Before joining New York Dermatology Group and NYDG Wellness in 2021, he practiced since 2017 at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York. In addition to a strong foundation in medical dermatology, he has experience in a wide range of lasers, energy-based devices, surgical techniques, and injectables, allowing him to approach aging, aesthetics, and skin health in a creative and comprehensive manner. He has been voted a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly, one of America's Best Cosmetic Dermatologists by Newsweek, and a Super Doctors Rising Star by the New York Times Magazine.
After graduating magna cum laude from Amherst College, he received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College. As part of his training, he did a research fellowship at the Rockefeller University where he studied non-melanoma skin cancer. He graduated with both honors in service as well as honors in research, and he received multiple awards including the Dean’s Research Award. He subsequently trained in dermatology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he helped create the educational program in dermatologic surgery. He also received extensive training in medical, surgical, and pediatric dermatology at the Los Angeles County Medical Center, Keck Hospital of USC, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He went on to complete a prestigious fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology under the direction of Roy Geronemus MD at the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York.
He has authored several textbook chapters on dermatologic surgery and multiple original articles, which have appeared in journals such as the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Subjects include high risk skin cancer, lasers for disorders of pigmentation, laser resurfacing, and aesthetic treatments for men. He has appeared on television shows such as the Real Housewives of New York and Good Day New York, and has been featured in multiple media outlets such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, People, Allure, Mens' Health, Into the Gloss, and New York Magazine. He is an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery.
